Period adverts for Ford E83Ws and other small sidevalves
There must have been loads of old adverts that show 10cwt vans and pickups, I've only come across a small number so far, but if you have any that feature 10cwts I'd really appreciate a copy to include on here if at all possible! Reg kindly emailed over the 2 magazine covers shown alongside. A peek at the tiny text suggests they are from either a Brazilian or Portuguese magazine.
Even more great E83W ads can be seen on page 2 of this section.

Australian advert for 10/10 van dated 1954
This bonny little ad was clipped from an Australian motoring magazine, dated April '54, and shows a Ten Ten (10hp - 10cwt) van, and an illustration of a very stylised Ford dealership, complete with large V8 script on it. Australian Fordsons differed somewhat from UK spec examples, and I hope to put up an article discussing these variations quite soon.

Thames trucks - large and small
The ad shown here came out of a Milk industry magazine in 1950, at about the time I think that the steel body was offered as an official option (despite being built by Anthony Hoists). The photo shows a steel pickup, reg FMO 200 (a Ford demonstrator?) alongside a larger ET6 (I think!). I did hear once that many of the steel pickups were used by an oil company for on-site work at oil refineries & terminals, though whether this is the case or not I can't say for sure. I have seen pictures of one with a BP logo on the door, so could be something in that rumour!

Canadian Advert 1949 for sidevalve Fords
This ad came out in 1949 and featured all the small sv Fords offered in Canada at the time. I'm amazed that any of these little Fords sold over there, given the size of the country, and the appetite for large engined cars coupled with cheap fuel. Featured are the Anglia, the E493A Prefect, the 5cwt (1/4 ton) van, and of course the 10cwt (1/2 ton) van.
