Snellings Lino van!
Thanks to Les for sending the pics that appear on this page. Shown here is a very unusual van, with coachbuilt rear body, owned by Snellings lino flooring company. Pre-war(ish) non beaded front wings and no bonnet badges, yet larger Thames-type front lamps fitted on this one. A very handsome little vehicle. Built by Cross body builders S.E London.

Van in a field!
Thanks to David, who sent over this piccie of him and his slightly tired E83W van back in the 1960s. Needless to say, it didn't survive. David runs the Rocking Horse Workshop nowadays, in Hodnet, Shropshire.

Howard Swain's van
Another nice pic from Les, who has sent a few other pictures that will feature elsewhere on the site soon. This period photo shows a Fordson (no bonnet badges, small lamps, early rear arches, but pull up windows - approx 1942ish) belonging to Howard Swain, of Queens Rd, Hastings. Swain's specialised in 'Grease Proof & Packing Parts or every description', and 'Paper bags for all trades'. They were also a Twine Merchant. Les thinks the livery was silver and dark blue - very dashing!

Rediffusion van
Rodney sent this great pic, showing a Rediffusion Sound Unit van at the Festival of Britain construction site. The photo credit is Fred Peskett of the Festival of Britain Society, to whom I'm grateful for allowing me to reproduce this photo here. Can anyone help them with details about these sound unit vans, and what happened to them?
