More original old ads that show E83W Fords in some way
This page is a continuation of the period E83W ads shown on page 1, and will contain more original ads that feature our favourite 10cwt van or pickup in some way, as and when I find suitable material.
Needless to say, all submissions welcome.

TV repair van - 1957 Thames advertisement
This advert dates to 1957, by which time Ford must have been keen to shift any remaining stock of E83Ws before the flat fronted 400E replacement hit the showrooms later in that year. This full page ad features 10cwt van registration NCD 826 as operated by a Mr R.J. Salter, MD of Antiference Installations Ltd (London). In the 1950s TV was still a fairly new development to many people, with many households yet to have its own valve powered television set humming in the corner of the living room. The van seen here, kitted out with hefty ladders, would have arrived at your home to fit a suitable aerial for your television. Antiference Installations would have been the people to call if you were able to stump up the cash for a new TV set, and you were in the London area.

Sternol Oils - Approved by Ford
By gum they don't come up with ad lines like that any more .. this great ad for Sternol Oils dates to mid 1953. Shown here is a Prefect E493a, a Ford tractor, and a good old E83W, shown here with a shiny chrome bumper blade.
By the time this magazine ad came out, both the Prefect and E83W were getting a little long in the tooth to say the least. The Prefect soldiered on a few more years until the 100E-shape Prefect came along, with its sleek monocoque styling and uptodate colour schemes. The van had another 4 years or so before it bit the dust, being replaced with the arguably less successful 400E which didn't itself stick around that long, being replaced by the Transit Mk1 in the 1960s.
