Thames E83W in Dagenham.
David Davenport sent this photo over, and agreed to it being added on the site. He adds: " I enclose a photo of KHV 6 that was in our family for a couple of years in the mid 1960s. We had several motor bike combinations before this migration to four wheels. My father worked as a mechanic in a small transport company (see photo) and we lived in a prefab in docklands hence the low cost transport. The picture is in a road near Fords in Dagenham visiting an older cousin hence the smart dress code! Great memories of travelling in a lose car seat placed inside the back doors. KHV 6 was hand painted in a royal blue with stick-on wood effect along the waist line moulding. My dad was always up to improvements and one attempt
to paint white walls to the tyres resulted in the whole tyre getting painted. Going to Southend saw people staring at us as we drove through
towns. I think they thought the circus was coming to town!". Thanks for the story and photo David!

E83W YMCA van.
This was also sent over by George, it shows a young chap stood alongside an E83W canteen van, operated by the YMCA during the war. Note the sign on the van's side panel - "Tea Revives You". Can't argue with that!
